Sunday’s Ramblings

I’m over yesterday’s hubby rant and all is well again in our humble abode. Actually he’s at work and I’m enjoying some quiet time while the zoo is napping. It’s funny, they are literally laying all over the house. Onyx (Missy) is in the dining room…her and I spent some intimate time cutting the mats off her underarea earlier so she’s a bit miffed with me…Topaz (Puppa) is in the hallway sprawled out, Razzle (Yidda) is in the kitchen on the floor, Malcolm (Mooshy) is in the kitchen on the stove…he always lays there, it’s warm and he likes to be up high…Alex (Fana) is in the laundry room on the rug and Beans is under the bed in her hiding spot.
And me? Well I’m sitting here in my purpley office in my jammies searching the net for scrappy freebies. Oh, and I’m printing invites for my sister’s wedding. We kind of had a girls’ day yesterday (just my sisters and me) and went shopping, to Thai for dinner…and I had this new YUMMY peanut sauce dish with broccoli, chicken and cabbage – YUM!…and then we came back here and searched the net a little for favor ideas and then tweaked my sister’s wedding invites and started printing them a bit. It was a good time!
Today’s layout is another of my nephew. I feel like I am always making one with my other nephew and niece and not as many of my older nephew. I have tons of pictures of him growing up but they’re all on floppy disks and this pc doesn’t have a floppy drive. I need to put them onto CD’s so I can use them!

Everytime I pull my camera out Elijah is posing or setting up some kind of scenario for me to take a picture of or video. Here’s a picture of him from a few Thanksgivings ago where he wanted it to look like he was chasing or trying to kill the turkey for dinner.
Well the husband is on his way home and I have to repackage 40lbs of chicken backs to be refrozen. Fun, yucky stuff! lol
I may be back later with another layout later. There’s a picture of my niece that would go perfectly with the Digitreats “skip” set…

A Man and His Toys… *eyeroll*
This is a husband rant. I love my husband but his little anal things irk the hell out of me sometimes and today he just got right under my skin with them.
He got this radio < -- for Christmas last year. He really wanted an iPod radio and this was the one my mom picked out for him.
A little background about the hubs before I get into the rant. He takes *very* good care of his things…anally good care. Like he’s a leave-the-little-plastic-sticker-on-things-until-it-falls-off-on-its-own kind of guy. Which is fine, it’s his thing and usually I don’t have to deal with it. He also values his items and “protects” them like they are gold. To me, an item is an item and most things can be fixed or replaced. To him, it’s his and it’s the last one on earth. He gets really bent out of shape if someone breaks something of his.
Ok, so to the rant. When I do the dishes I like to listen to music. We have an under the counter radio in the kitchen and I’ve made cd’s from my fave list on my ipod and they don’t seem to work right so I’ll listen to one cd or else I’ll bring this ipod radio in there to listen to.
Shouldn’t be a problem, right? Oh…but it is! I put it on the washing machine and he doesn’t want it there because the cats can get up there. He doesn’t want it on the counter because there’s not enough room (um, there’s PLENTY of room) and I may knock it down. He doesn’t want it on the fridge because it’s too high up. The baker’s rack is too wobbly, the bathroom sink is not big enough, the toilet is well…the toilet and there’s no plug in the dining room. So today I put it in the little window we have above the sink. Guess what? Too close to water.
He’s afraid I’ll ruin his precious radio. Like we can’t replace the damn thing. it’s an ITEM! Not a living being or something like that….!!!
Ugh!!! Obviously he doesn’t want me using the thing, so I’m not going to anymore. It’s so irritating…all this mine/yours bullshit. We’re married fgs!! What’s yours is mine and what’s mine is yours…what happened to that. If we want to be so technical about it, the computer is mine. I bought 1/2 of it with MY money and my mom bought the rest of it for ME…not him, ME. But do I pull that card out on him? never.
I’m going to be getting myself my very own little ipod radio and permanently put it in the kitchen on the baker’s rack. that way I can listen to it when I take a shower and when I do dishes and things. Screw him and his radio. I’m so done with this argument.
Why would I ruin it? geez.

Kitty Crackups
It cracks me up how silly cats are. They will lay on anything that’s on the floor – roll themselves into a little catball and lay on a piece of paper, or a washcloth or whatever is on the floor or table…anywhere really. And boxes, omg…we buy canned food by the case since that’s all we feed the kitties and they ALWAYS sit, lay whatever in the empty boxes from the cases!
Here’s Malcolm in one of the boxes…(oooh I fixed the eyes, they look creepy now LOL I’ll have to play with that feature a bit more.) Right before I took this picture he was laying in this box. Of course as soon as I grabbed my camera he sat up!!
Another thing…what gets into them when they run through the house at full speed?? We have one long hallway that is the length of our house and they LOVE to zoom up and down the hall and chase each other!

Fabu Friday!
Today is my luxurious day off and so far it’s about 3:00 and I have done nothing. Heh, it’s all good though. I actually felt rested when I woke up this morning at like 6:30 to a dog nose on my arm. I ended being up for an hour just about wide awake sitting there thinking how I could go to work right then and probably have been fine all day.
I think i know what’s been wrong with me all week. I was completely out of one of my medications for a week due to the whole check mixup…and I was able to get it filled and get back on it. I know it will take a few days to get into my system, but I think I felt better just having it in the house again and being able to take it.
So, a good night’s sleep and a whole day to do what I need to do. Sounds like a winner to me.
I wanted to write quick and post the page I just finished before I go get started on the dishes…ugh…the most dreaded thing on earth!
I found this great word art today during my freebie search and it fit PERFECTLY with the picture of my nephew and my dad that I used in the layout the other day, so I used it again and I even found another one and was able to use two smaller pictures.

GHI Review and More
Well GHI was not all that great last night. I found the first one to be a little boring and barely watched it. The second location was beautiful and I really thought the place was haunted. I’m not the ghost hunter though! I actually thought that the rerun of GH that was on before GHI came on was better than the new episode of GHI. I hope they get better. The previews of next week’s show looked good, so we’ll see how that goes. Of course I will still watch, but it’s not as good as I expected.
Made a new page tonight of my neice. She’s in Australia right now and she’s grown so much in a year!! My SIL sent me this picture and it’s one of my absolute favorites!!

My husband and I also have a lot of errand type things to do tomorrow. And I need to clean the house because my sister is coming over on Saturday. We’re going to do her invitations and things for her wedding. They should be cool and omg doing them on the computer allows you to design them yourself and is cheaper in the long run!

Tonight is Ghosthunters International and I sure hope it is better than last week. It’s on in a couple hours so I have a little bit to recreate last night’s Topaz page and make another one, hopefully.
Got some GREAT freebie kits today!! Especially one called “Mango Tango” from the Sunshine Studio Scraps peeps! I LOVE it and can’t wait to use it. The colors are great!

Too Tired Tuesday
I am exhausted. Who knows why, I could go to sleep right now and sleep till tomorrow.
We found out about our stimulus check. We’re basically not getting it…which is fine because it’s paying off an old debt and that’s better than money that we didn’t have but got for free. The husband is not happy, but I’m ok with it. We would have just spent it on stuff we don’t need anyways.
Still on the money subject…my husband was granted disability in April and as of last week, we still hadn’t heard anything about it. Well, after a few phone calls to our state reps, we finally got his letter of determination. We really need this to start soon before we get too far behind. Hopefully the fire we lit will get the ball rolling a little bit quicker.
I started making a scrappy page using a picture of Topaz and Photoshop crashed!! I’m not in the habit of saving as I go…I NEED to get into this…so I lost it. I liked how it was coming, so I’ll probably redo it tomorrow night.

I should explain who these 2 handsome young men are in this page. These are our nephews, Elijah and Andrew. Elijah is my sister’s son and Andrew is my husband’s sister and her husband’s son. That picture was taken at my inlaws’ lake home. We take Elijah there with us for the weekend at least once a year. He and Andrew get along so well together even though there’s a 5 year age difference between them.
Ugh, I just noticed the journaling has typos in it…I think i saved this as a pds before i made it into a jpg, I’ll have to check. *Note to self: Double check journaling prior to saving as a jpg!*
New Blog Look!
Well, in my endless search for free scrappy things online, I ran across Sweet Scraps. Christie is the blog owner and she has the sweetest kit available for free! It’s called “Simply Adorable” and it really is just that!
The theme of her blog was made by Allie with one of her kits. It’s too cute, so I went and checked out Allie’s blog and she has other themes available and also directions on how to use them. I tried to use the kitty one but the background was a little dark for me, so I decided to make my own!
Why pears? Well, it’s a long running joke from when I worked in the grocery store. I’d smell the pear wrappers…they really smell like pears!! And it just escalated from there!
So now I collect pears. My kitchen and dining room “theme” is pears and I have pears everywhere in my house. Here are a couple photos of the kitchen and dining room.

I may not have a lot to say and who knows who’s reading, but isn’t that how it all starts? Someone reads one blog, something catches their eye and then they come back. That’s how I’ve found most of the blogs I read on a regular basis.

Lazy Sunday
This weekend I was supposed to work on website things for the APSFA. I am so behind in everything, but for whatever reason Frontpage wasn’t cooperating and I cannot connect to upload. I don’t understand. I tried to turn the firewall off and everything. I messed with it for a few hours yesterday and then again for a couple hours today. I’m just get frustrating and I keep getting that dreaded “default beep”…a noise I hate. So I guess I’ll look at it again tomorrow.
I was also supposed to do the dishes this weekend. I HATE doing the dishes. I will let them completely stack up until we don’t have any dishes clean before I do them. I know that’s nasty, and we even have a dishwasher, but I despise doing dishes. I’ll have to bite the bullet and do them one day this week. Maybe tomorrow.
What I did do today was organize my scrapbook stuff on my external hard drive and downloaded some more freebies. The organizing took a long time, but it’s worth it because everything is nice and neat now. I even downloaded a new little program to extract zip and rar files. It’s much better than Winzip. It’s called “ExtractNow” and it works really quickly and can do multiple files at once!!! Which is something that really annoyed my about Winzip. So now I can just download and extract scrappy things much much quicker. lol Lord, help me!

I need to find the link where I got the template, but all of the papers are from Michi and they are a freebie mega kit called “Endless”. The ribbon on the side is also from there and the crown is from somewhere else that I’m not sure of.
Like I’ve said before I was just downloading and never saving where things came from, so most of my kits and everything, I have NO clue where they came from. Most are freebies. I didn’t change the filenames so some I can figure out. If I’m posting pages here I’ll try to figure it out so I can give credit where I can. Just assume I made NONE of the papers or embellishments because I have no clue how to even color something!!! LOL I’m learning though!
The picture is of Jellybean, aka Beans or “Missy Beans” as she’s more recently been called. I guess I should have put her name on there somewhere. She’s our only girl kitty and she’s a rescue. We adopted her from a shelter that we volunteered at for a while. Actually all but one of our cats came from that shelter. Good thing we’re not still there or we’d have many more cats!! Beans is 2 yrs old I think now and she’s just a little bitty thing. She’s been more social lately and comes out more…she used to just hide mostly.
It’s not a great thing to have so many cats in the same age range. Especially boys!!! I totally prefer boy cats to girl cats for many reasons, but they are so bad…it’s like a house full of toddlers here. They’re just into EVERYTHING and I swear, they get together at night and conspire against us!! lol
Tomorrow I’m going to make a scrapbook page using a photo of my two nephews together. It’s a silly and cute picture of them sticking their tongues out. I don’t know if I am going to put it up or not. I’m not sure if I should put their pictures out there for all to see. Maybe it doesn’t matter, so many people do it. I’ll have to think about it. I’ll probably put it on here. I’m really going to try to make a page a day…or a couple a week anyways.
Well I need to put the food I made for my breakfast tomorrow away in the fridge and my bed is calling me. I hate having no food and no money. 
Hopefully that stimulus check comes tomorrow!!!
