I Get Bored
…yeah, I get border really easily! So I tend to change things up.
Which is ironic because I don’t like change in general. Maybe this is change I can control which is why I like it…and I like to figure it out and tweak.
Anyway…decided to brighten things up a bit and went with this wonderful theme by the lovely Flergs.
Oh, and I renamed the blog…much better…and I made the header super busy! So me.
Overall…blog redesign…total WIN!
How Random is Sunday ~ True Blood, Tru Blood, New Moon, New Blackberry
Sunday comes entirely too quickly! But with it brings True Blood! woo hoo! Cannot wait every Sunday night at 9 to sit and watch the vampires of Louisiana. Love.this.show! And I’ve been listening to the books too. I’m on Book 4, which so far is the best one and I’m gaining a new…um…respect for Eric. lol I need to separate the books from the show because although the show follows the books pretty closely, they aren’t exact. Pretty dern close though!
I follow TrueBloodHBO on Twitter and they posted that Tru Blood, the drink from the show is now available to pre-order. How cool is that? We may just order some to have the bottles in the house, they are too cool.
From the website:
Be the first to own the Tru Blood Drink, Ships early exclusively at the HBO Shop!
It’s official! The Tru Blood drink has now been ‘de-fictionalized’ and emerges into reality as a delicious blood orange carbonated drink.
- Meticulously crafted, the Tru Blood Drink is an exact replica of the bottle design as seen on True Blood. The 14oz glass Tru Blood bottle is stained in a rich red, with raised Tru Blood English lettering and matching Japanese Kanji.
- This blood orange flavored soda is slightly tart, lightly sweet and subtly carbonated. Designed to taste great while matching the appearance of Bill’s favorite drink, the drink pours like a regular soda, but with the standing appearance in a glass is stormy and mysterious.
Drop Dead Diva is also on and so is Army Wives. I think DDD is on at 9 too, but I can always catch it when they rerun it, or we can catch True Blood at 11:30 when it comes on again. I didn’t think I’d like Drop Dead Diva, but I really do. I think I’ve seen them all so far…and I even got the pilot for free on iTunes and it’s on my iPod! I think it’s pretty funny and a concept that hasn’t really ever been done before. My Sunday nights are filling up with choice TV viewing!
I didn’t really blog to discuss my television viewing choices for Sunday nights, I promise! Well, not that I have much else better to say…lol
Comic Con is going on right now and they released two sneak peeks of New Moon the other day. Someone video taped them, so this is like a video of a video but the quality is actually ok, and you’ll get the idea. There are 2 of them, although when I first saw them, I saw them both together in one clip. I can’t find that now…so here are the 2 separate. I put 2 first because I like this one better. *Edited the videos out because they were removed due to copyright violation…*sob*!
There is a BUNCH of screaming during both of them. I REALLY hope that seeing the actual movie isn’t going to be like that. Theaters should have an “adult” showing of the movie without all of the screaming girls! When we saw Twilight there was a little screaming, but not so bad. I can already tell this is gonna be CRAZY! Too many bare chested vampires/werewolves in this movie! lol I’ll probably go see it a week or so after it’s been out…give the screaming girls time to see if first.
So my husband went out and did this thing…we shall not talk about. It was MY idea really, which I totally regret putting the thought into his head, but like I said…we’re not gonna talk about that. Anyway…his phone was eligible for an upgrade, but he didn’t want to upgrade his phone. Whereas, I really do ♥ my blackberry, it’s been slow lately, not loading websites, and for whatever reason, on Friday, the BB Messenger wasn’t working, my camera wasn’t working and it was SUPER slow to load anything!! I was ready to throw the thing out the window of the truck, but I didn’t. He contacted Verizon to see if his phone upgrade could be transferred to my phone…well, it seems as though it can! So he ordered me the new Blackberry Tour. I don’t like touch screen, or I would have gotten the Storm…but the Tour is cool and seems to have great ratings. So tomorrow, I will be the proud owner of a brand new shiny Crackberry! LOL Hopefully it won’t take me too long to get used to it. It only took me 8 or so months to get used to the Curve! LOL I’m sure it’s not THAT different from the one I have now!

10 Principles for Peace of Mind
Credit: PravsJ http://pravstalk.com/10-principles-for-peace-of-mind/
1. Do Not Interfere In Others’ Business Unless Asked:
Most of us create our own problems by interfering too often in others’ affairs. We do so because somehow we have convinced ourselves that our way is the best way, our logic is the perfect logic and those who do not conform to our thinking must be criticized and steered to the right direction, our direction. This thinking denies the existence of individuality and consequently the existence of God.. God has created each one of us in a unique way. No two human beings can think or act in exactly the same way. All men or women act the way they do because God within them prompts them that way. Mind your own business and you will keep your peace.
–
2. Forgive And Forget:
This is the most powerful aid to peace of mind. We often develop ill feelings inside our heart for the person who insults us or harms us. We nurture grievances. This in turn results in loss of sleep, development of stomach ulcers, and high blood pressure. This insult or injury was done once, but nourishing of grievance goes on forever by constantly remembering it. Get over this bad habit. Life is too short to waste in such trifles. Forgive,20Forget, and march on. Love flourishes in giving and forgiving.
–
3. Do Not Crave For Recognition:
This world is full of selfish people. They seldom praise anybody without selfish motives. They may praise you today because you are in power, but no sooner than you are powerless, they will forget your achievement and will start finding faults in you. Why do you wish to kill yourse lf in striving for their recognition? Their recognition is not worth the aggravation. Do your duties ethically and sincerely.
–
4. Do Not Be Jealous:
We all have experienced how jealousy can disturb our peace of mind. You know that you work harder than your colleagues in the office, but sometimes they get promotions; you do not. You started a business several years ago, but you are not as successful as your neighbor whose business is only one year old. There are several examples like these in everyday life. Should you be jealous? No. Remember everybody’s life is shaped by his/her destiny, which has now become his/her reality. If you are destined to be rich, nothing in the world can stop you. If you are not so destined, no one can help you either. Nothing will be gained by blaming others for your misfortune. Jealousy will not get you anywhere; it will only take away your peace of mind.
–
5. Change Yourself According To The Environment:
If you try to change the environment single-handedly, the chances are you will fail. Instead, change yourself to suit your environment. As you do this, even the environment, which has been unfriendly to you, will mysteriously change and seem congenial and harmonious.
–
6. Endure What Cannot Be Cured:
This is the best way to turn a disadvantage into an advantage. Every day we face numerous inconveniences, ailments, irritations, and accidents that are beyond our control. If we cannot control them or change them, we must learn to put up with these things. We must learn to endure them cheerfully. Believe in yourself and you will gain in terms of patience, inner strength and will power.
–
7. Do Not Bite Off More Than You Can Chew:
This maxim needs to be remembered constantly. We often tend to take more responsibilities than we are capable of carrying out. This is done to satisfy our ego. Know your limitations. . Why take on additional loads that may create more worries? You cannot gain peace of mind by expanding your external activities. Reduce your material engagements and spend time in prayer, introspection and meditation. This will reduce those thoughts in your mind that make you restless. Uncluttered mind will produce greater peace of mind.
–
8. Meditate Regularly:
Meditation calms the mind and gets rid of disturbing thoughts. This is the highest state of peace of mind. Try and experience it yourself. If you meditate earnestly for half an hour everyday, your mind will tend to become peaceful during the remaining twenty-three and half-hours. Your mind will not be easily disturbed as it was before. You would benefit by gradually increasing the period of daily meditation. You may think that this will interfere with your daily work. On the contrary, this will increase your efficiency and you will be able to produce better results in less time.
–
9. Never Leave The Mind Vacant:
An empty mind is the devil’s workshop. All evil actions start in the vacant mind. Keep your mind occupied in something positive, something worthwhile. Actively follow a hobby. Do something that holds your interest. You must decide what you value more: money or peace of mind. Your hobby, like social work or religious work, may not always earn you more money, but you will have a sense of fulfillment and achievement. Even when you are resting physically, occupy yourself in healthy reading or mental chanting of God’s name.
–
10. Do Not Procrastinate And Never Regret:
Do not waste time in protracted wondering ” Should I or shouldn’t I?” Days, weeks, months, and years may be wasted in that futile mental debating. You can never plan enough because you can never anticipate all future happenings. Value your time and do the things that need to be done. It does not matter if you fail the first time. You can learn from your mistakes and succeed the next time. Sitting back and worrying will lead to nothing. Learn from your mistakes, but do not brood over the past. DO NOT REGRET. Whatever happened was destined to happen only that way. Why cry over spilt milk?
Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince Review
Oh Harry Potter…I’ve missed you.
I was SO excited to see this movie! I couldn’t wait…how that’s different than any other Harry Potter movie? LOL It’s not. But this movie was SUPPOSED to come out LAST year!! So we waited extra long for this movie!!
I can’t help but feel a little bit let down. I know the books are HUGE and it’s a lot of stuff to cram into a movie. I get that. However, I still feel like there was SO much missing from this movie!
Now, I’ll admit, I’ve been vamp crazy lately and have lost some of my Harry Potter knowledge, I mean when we got out I was totally confusing book 5 with 6 and can’t even remember how book 7 even started! I need #7 on audio so I can listen to it. I don’t think it’s out on audio at all yet! And omg, do I ever need to relisten to #6!
Ok…to the movie…
HP fans…is it me, or was there MORE to the whole Harry/Ginny thing in the book?? WHY didn’t they show that? Instead we get this flirty sexual tension that I HATE and could do without. And Ron and Hermoine too…I know that’s what this book had in it and it was about, but I KNOW HP and GW do end up kissing more than ONCE!
And didn’t Dumbledore and Harry go searching for more Horcruxes than just the one? Or were they just memories? Like we saw 2 memories…but didn’t Harry see a lot more?
See, it’s again, there’s not a lot of time in a movie VS a book. Unfortunately. But still…was it me or was A LOT missing?
Like they started out ok…and then RUSHED through the rest? The end came so quickly that I was like…HUH? That’s IT? ![]()
I HATE HATE HATE when movies end like that!!!!! ![]()
And……………………WHERE WAS VOLDEMORT??? Was he totally missing in the book???? Is that EVEN possible?? Sure, there was a young Voldemort in Tom Riddle…who, BTW was a little cutie, but where was the scary serpenty villian we all hate? And while I’m talking about villians…let’s talk DRACO MALFOY, shall we? Was he or was he not the sad, tortured, torn bad guy…like he had this HORRIBLE task to do but he didn’t WANT to do it…wait…that would be killing Dumbledore! heh Oh, and Draco SO reminded me of Edward Cullen…mmmmmm Edward…
No, not in looks but in the way he was so sad and conflicted. Poor widdle Malfoy!
Ok…so maybe I’m being a little too harsh. Was it a good movie? Of COURSE!
It was a little funny, which was a refreshing change…and ok, the teenage sexual tension was cute…in an annoying cutesy sort of way. and OMG…the pygmy puff was ADORABLE! And Luna…what a hoot that girl is!
OMG and the Quidditch match was AWESOME!! great effects on that one! Thumbs up for that one! ![]()
The movie had it’s good and bad points. It’s Harry Potter, if you read the books, you KNOW how it’s gonna end. It was happy, sad, and even had a point in it where I jumped out of my seat. There was action, love, drama, and it wasn’t as “dark” as the past few have been. Although I am a little disappointed, I loved it. It’s Harry Potter…again…it’s Harry Potter!
I give it: ![]()

Another Grand Mal Tonight! 7/13/09 – Actually 2
This was supposed to be published on our dog’s blog, but I didn’t change the blog on Live Writer and published it here. I decided to leave it here as well. Just cuz.
http://topazseizures.blogspot.com/
I really hope this isn’t going to be a long year with the seizures.
Topaz had another 2 Grand Mals tonight. I believe they started at 11:30pm ish. it was kind of hectic and I wasn’t able to see a clock right away. It was 11:35 when I looked at the clock…
I was making my lunch for tomorrow (Salmon, if that has anything to do with anything…the possible fish connection I made a few months ago) and Topaz went running down the hall to see my husband, which was kind of odd. Not that he’s never done so before, but it was just odd. Then he came my way and kind of staggered near the dining room table and then I knew, this wasn’t normal…so I was prepared and called my husband down to help.
He definitely foamed a heck of a lot more than usual this time. The first was fairly short, he kind of came around and then went right into the second one. It was a little nosier than the first and he was really contorted into a horrible position. Seeing a dog seize is not a pretty picture!
A few other things:
- he didn’t urinate on himself during either seizure
- more foaming than normal
- loud crying noises
- post ictal has been long, he’s still not ok (this was written over an hour later)
We called the e-vet and they suggested we bring him in. As you may or may not know, e-vets are super expensive and we only have xx amount of dollars available to use and well, it was definitely going to be more than that. They suggested we maybe bring him in and they could treat him outpatient.
We decided to keep and eye on him and call his vet first thing in the morning. If he has another one tonight, we will take him in for sure though.
I don’t know what else they can do at this point but up his medication. He may just need to be a bit ataxic in order to function with minimal seizures. Lots of epileptic dogs are like that.
I think we may have his thyroid tested again too, just to rule that completely out. Oh and we need to review the ice pack position. I am going to print that out now!
After the seizure we took him outside and I gave him some Bryer’s all natural vanilla which he loved, and also some Rescue Remedy. I also gave him 2 gr of PB tonight and we upped his KBr back to 1.5ml. I am gonna have the hubbs ask the vet about upping that back up anyways.
Hopefully this doesn’t continue. I hate to have to write these blogs…especially back to back.
*sigh* going to reset the ticker. My poor puppa!
Haven’t Blogged in a While…
But I will catch up tomorrow.
Today wasn’t the best of days.
I slipped getting out of the shower on Friday before work and hit my back on the toilet on the way down. OUCH! I had a really sore weekend, but I am so much better now. Thank God. And my husband did a great job taking care of me and dealing with my hurty, crabby ass. Thanks a lot, hun! (heh, I KNOW he reads this!)
THEN…tonight, our poor epileptic puppa, Topaz, has not one but 2 Grand Mal seizures. They were a few hours apart, but both were weird and not the norm…which worries me a bit. We’re gonna keep an eye on him and hope and PRAY he doesn’t have another one anytime soon! Poor P!
So basically, I spent my weekend on some killer pain meds and sleep aids, and just crabby! YEAH…great weekend.
Ugh, it’s back to work tomorrow! At least it’s a pay week and I get to play with some of the money…woo hoo! I already have a little list going.
- External “A” drive (I have a TON of pictures on Floppy disks (I had a Sony Mavica) and need to transfer them to CD…but the PC we have doesn’t even HAVE an “A” drive! LOL)
- Blank CD’s for the pictures!
- USB hub for my desk…too many USB type things, not enough ports!
- Something to hold papers! (So stupid, but good lord, I could use this!)
- New Glasses!
I think I’m forgetting something…but that’s all I can remember right now. It’s written down and in my iPod case.
Also, I want to do some home improvement type things…a gutter for the front of our house, a new storm door on the back…a new towel bar for the bathroom since I pulled the one we have down off the dam wall! LOL
Hopefully nothing comes up between now and then and I can play with some of this money. New things are fun! LOL I need a bit of retail therapy in my life!
Anyways, if anyone out there is reading this…hope you had a better weekend than I did, and have a great week!
Testing this bad boy out
Just finally got the new Wordpress application for my Blackberry to work!! Testing it out now!
Happy 4th of July & Mean Kitty!
I just love those cheesy glitter myspace graphics! …ok back on track!… Happy 4th of July!! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. We don’t have any solid plans for our 4th. We may go see fireworks at my sister’s house tonight, but I am not sure yet. I’d like to take some photos of the ‘works with my new camera. We still have some time to decide. We were going to BBQ burgers, but my husband isn’t feeling well, so I think we may just order from Texas Roadhouse or something. Oooh maybe Chili’s…they have *really* good ribs! hmm…I’ll have to suggest that instead! lol
A quick update on Miss seizure kitty, Beans…so far she’s been doing well. No more seizures as far as we know. She’s actually more friendly now if that is even possible! Maybe she had a near-death experience and it changed her a bit…who knows. But she’s doing good. I really hope it was a fluke thing. So odd though…2 animals who have had seizures. Weird!
Yesterday was the 2nd of many wedding related sweatshops! We addressed, labeled and stamped my sister’s wedding invites. She wasn’t as organized with her addresses and names as my mother liked, so we had to get that in order as we went along. What should have been a couple hour job ended up being 10 hours! Which was fine, I’m not complaining at all. We had a good time…laughed a lot and in the end, it’s done. And we got to see her puppy, Samson! He’s such a cutie! He’s a mastiff mix…and omg he’s gonna be a MONSTER!
I took a lot of pictures, but this is one of my favorites. My dad had come over to drop something off and brought their dog, Mickey…well Mickey and Sam don’t get along really well so he had to take Mickey home and Sam was just sitting at the gate watching my dad and Mickey get back into the car. It was really cute.
Time to go discuss dinner plans with the hubbs…before I go, let me share a funny video! It is is HILAROUS! I haven’t ever seen it before. I swear, this could be any one of our boys…especially Malcolm and Alex! Enjoy!
