My name is Heidi and I live in Southeastern Michigan with my husband and our zoo of animals. We don’t have any children and probably never will because my husband has a number of Autoimmune diseases…specifically one called Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome and he was recently also diagnosed with Lupus. We may adopt or foster in the future, so kids are not completely out of the question.

My husband and I met online in 1995. Yeah, that long ago! We were married in 2001 in the cheeziest chapel in Vegas! We didn’t “run away” to get married there or anything (not that there’s anything wrong with that!). We were actually there for my best friend’s wedding and decided to tie the knot ourselves! We came home, told our families and then had a kick ass home reception in December…thrown for us by my parents.

Our marriage isn’t perfect (who’s is?) but I can honestly say that we’re happier now as a couple than we have been in years. Which is a great thing because we’ve been through some rough times.

I work full time in the health insurance industry. I’ve worked for the same company for 13 years. My husband is on permanent disability due to his illnesses and depression and he doesn’t work.

I tend to blog about my animals and my husband the most…but also digital scrapbooking and my family and my life…

I like things like pears, digital scrapbooking, computers in general, web design, animals, the color purple, listening to books on my iPod, Twilight, Harry Potter, movies like Superbad, Anchorman, Knocked up…
