My Mom’s Christmas Decorations
We had a lovely dinner at my parents house with my sister, her new husband and her son! My other sister is in Tennessee with her fiance. (He asked her this past week!! woo hoo!) I took a lot of pictures of my mom’s Christmas decorations. I am gonna share my favorites!
She also has this FABULOUS jewelry Christmas tree that she made. She’s making me (well we will make it together) a pear shaped one for my living room or dining room. I CANNOT WAIT to get that baby home! Here are a couple pix of her tree:
Yeah, that’s ALL Jewelry!! Very sparkly and cool. hers has these little lights in it too. It’s just the sweetest thing!!

Christmas Fading into the Distance
I can’t believe that Christmas is over! It came so fast and poof! now it’s gone!
I love Christmastime. I love the music, the lights, the tree, the spirit, the giving, receiving. I just love it all. I like getting together with family and celebrating the season.
Tonight was our progressive dinner with my siblings and parents. It was a lot of fun, but a long night!! We had appetizers here, then off to my younger sister’s house for soup…then to my parents house for dinner and then to my youngest sister’s house for dessert and a white elephant gift exchange. I had alot of fun. I wish my husband could have come, but he was working. Which is good! But he missed great food and good times.
2008 is right around the corner. I wonder what it will bring?? I am hoping nothing but good things! 2007 wasn’t too bad….could have been better, but definitely could have been worse too! Whatever comes our way in 2008 we can surely handle.
Happy New Year to you and yours. May you have a safe, health and happy 2008!!
This week’s adoption
I volunteer at an animal shelter on the weekends and sometimes during the week…
This past weekend we had a pet adoption like we do every weekend.
This weekend was different and special because we adopted out at least 4 … probably more that I’m forgetting … adult or near adult dogs – including a couple who have been with us for a very long time. We also adopted out 4 older cats – one who I thought would NEVER be adopted.
Buddah was brought in feral and just did not trust people at ALL! She would hiss and swat at people and scratch and everything. She just didn’t like anyone! Well this couple was adopting another cat, a little orange tabby female who is the sweetest thing and the man told the volunteer who was helping them that he wanted to give a second chance to a cat who may not otherwise get adopted. WOW! The volunteer immediately showed them Buddah and told them about her short comings. And they decided to adopt her as well.
There are still good people out there. And that was TRULY a Christmas Miracle if I’ve ever seen one…I have tears as I type this…and I had tears on Saturday too.
I wonder what Buddah is doing right now in her new home.
Thing about the weekend that was so cool…we had two litters of puppies there, and although a couple puppies did get adopted, it was mostly older dogs and the cats.
Just.Wow.
